Who is Nuttyxander?

Why should I care who nuttyxander is?, you say
I say what did you expect from a page named like this?
I am a student at Edinburgh University, studying Computer Science (sorta)
I'm a geek with too many interests to list, though I could try...
I keep a rather fun and exciting blog
I also maintain this entire site
- Age etc.
- 19 Years old (born on 25th December 1981)
- Ginger haired, (fairly) short (1.65 metres or so)
- Short sighted (wears glasses)
- Geeky
- Nickname explanation
- Why nuttyxander?, I hear you say, well
- Long ago I was mad-alex, 'cos my full name is Alexander, shortened to Alex due to laziness
- Then I found that there were too many mad-alex's, so I had to get a decent nickname
- After much pondering and watching of Buffy, I realised that Xander would be a good idea
- Then as the mad part of my previous nick cam just from my Madness fandom (aka that nutty sound)
- I then picked nuttyxander for it was nice, though it's taken me a year to come to love it
- Interests
- I'm a bit of a geek.
- OK, I'm an uber-geek, which I think is a good thing (proof enough eh?)
- Anyway, I enjoy the following:
- animation of many kinds (NOT Disney)
- hence,
- anime
- 80s [Toons] (Thundercats, Danger Mouse and so on)
- music (80s, cult, odd and cool, oh and geeky too)
- more of those later /elsewhere
- I also enjoy a good film or TV series (spaced, Italian Job, anything Ghibli) especially on [DVDs] :)
- This is rambling a bit now...
- erm, I think you get the picture...
- Animation
- I am a bit of an animation freak, and through the aasoc of Edinburgh uni, I've got more so
- I've now started a dirty habit of collecting Ghibli films cos they are just amazing, and
- I do have the odd 80s [Toons] tape lying around (ya know how it is).
- Issues, Politics and the like...
- I'm a bit of a left winger, one of the those "crazy" types who believes in public ownership
- But aside from all that I get pissed off by things such as:
- Large scale illegal government phone tapping towers (that no-one seems to mind...)
- Daft practices at nuclear establishments like this
- Corporate power squeezing out the little guy
- (yes that's three genuine and true conspiracies!)
- Censorsh*p
- Music
- My music tastes have varyingly been called crap, poor and scary.
-
- I do go a little but wide I'll admit, here's a list of my current favourites.
-
- They Might Be Giants
- They are just so wonderfully different and inventive that I can't stop.
- Madness
- Camden's finest, pop that lasts and the albums are all amazing IMHO
- KLF
- Well, how shall I put this... far far too good, and utterly brilliant (what time is love?)
- Ian Dury
- Lyrically he is the master, no questions.
- Bis
- My kind of thing
- Fantastic Plastic Machine
- Tanaka is a genius! You've just got to try some...
- Pulp
- Cocker has it all, but will complain about not having it at all, and I salute him for it...
- Beck
- Funky, cool, genius!
- Tom Lehrer
- Biting satire, that's just never aged (so long mom, I'm off to drop the bomb)
- Terrorvision
- They've just got this certain way with music....
- Daft Punk
- Discovery (2nd album) rocks on a level that is just insane!
- Mr Scruff
- Keeping it Unreal in the best possible fashion :)
- Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds
- Ulla!

- Very impressive soundtracks for Kiki, Nausicaa, Mononoke and also some other
films I have yet to see
- The Avalanches
-
- Since I Left You is criminally powerful
- Fuzz Townshend
